Dan Fang

Co-Founder

Dan Fang is the co-founder of Oaks + Crown Leadership. He is passionate about leadership development and pursuing the heart of God. He loves coaching, mentoring, and discipling young leaders who will then step into their calling as kings and queens ruling over God’s Kingdom with love and justice.

Dan’s background and experience is in international development and design, having previously worked with the human-centered design firm, IDEO.org, and then co-leading a design studio in Nairobi, Bluesky Innovations. While in Kenya, he personally trained more than 800 young leaders in human-centered design through the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Center. Most recently, he has been exploring the intersections of capacity-building and scalable technology with Philanthropy University, a tech non-profit based in Oakland, California working to democratize learning for local grassroots and NGO leaders in the Global South. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major in International Relations and Neuroscience.

Skye Herrick

Co-Founder

Skye Herrick is the co-founder of Oaks + Crown Leadership. Skye is passionate about intercultural collaboration and justice and has spent over two years living in Sub-Saharan Africa working in leadership training and community development. Her experience includes serving with the Peace Corps as a Sustainable Agricultural Systems volunteer in northern Benin where she worked with local community members to improve nutrition through installing household and school vegetable gardens. Prior to the Peace Corps, she worked with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) in Nairobi, Kenya where she supported a network of 2,000+ program alumni across 14 countries. She graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Development Economics.

 

Moryn Mwania

Program Administrator

Moryn Mwania is the Program Administrator at Oaks + Crown. A Cohort 2 Oaks + Crown Fellow, she is passionate about communications and community service delivery. Moryn enjoys volunteering, building relationships, intercultural collaborations, and coordinating activities. She is a social science graduate from the University of Nairobi. Previously, she has worked with Innovations for Poverty Action and the World Food Program. Her work experience has allowed her to gain skills in community engagement, program coordination, report writing, team management, and communications, among others. She has also trained in leadership with different institutions such as the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), Emerging Leaders Foundation Kenya (ELF), and World Changers. She believes that her work is worship to God.

Peter Kariuki Mbuthia

Program Manager

Peter Mbuthia is the Program Manager at Oaks + Crown. He is also a Cohort 2 Fellow and has a passion for training, mentoring, and coaching young people, especially towards fulfilling their God-given assignments. His mission in life is to inspire young people into their places of purpose and leadership. Peter also enjoys organizing and moderating community service events and team-building activities.

Peter trained as an accountant and had the privilege of serving as an accountant and church minister in Jubilee Christian Church, Nakuru, Kenya for nine years; a post he held until he resigned to pursue his passion as a trainer and coach. He holds a Bachelor of Arts - Theology degree, from The Solomon's Temple International School of Theology; an affiliate of The New Life Theological Seminary. He is also a certified life coach, having been trained and certified by the Destiny Life Coaching Institute. Peter believes life’s greatest fulfillment is in finding and fulfilling one’s God-given assignment, and he has made it his life’s purpose to guide young people in this course.

Faith Kanyi

Community Manager

Faith Kanyi is the Community Manager at Oaks + Crown. She is also a Cohort 2 Fellow and the outgoing Country Lead for House Kenya. With a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nairobi, Faith brings a rich blend of experience and dedication to her professional and personal endeavors. Her career includes impactful roles at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (I.E.B.C.) and Sanlam Insurance, where she honed her skills in various capacities.
As the founder of Shemot Solutions, Faith has demonstrated a commitment to empowering individuals with problem-solving skills through design thinking while also providing general supplies services. Her entrepreneurial spirit is matched by her diverse educational background, which includes studies in Uganda.
In addition to her professional achievements, Faith has served in Christian ministry as a team leader, reflecting her deep faith and passion for community service. She believes that work is not merely a vocation but a calling to partner with God, integrating spiritual values with professional growth. Faith’s dedication to her work and her love for God and His people guide her approach to both her career and her ministry.

He serves on the Board of Advisors of UPenn’s Graduate School of Education.

Ruki Roti-Balogun

Global Head of Strategic Partnerships, Luno

Ruki Roti-Balogun is an accomplished technology leader and digital enthusiast with over 16 years experience working with Global & Pan African players including Ericsson, Huawei, and the Econet Group, helping many regional and global companies in the Telecommunications, Internet, Media, and Technology industry on their digital transformation journey. She currently works with Luno upgrading the world to a more open, efficient, and inclusive financial system, by making cryptocurrency accessible to all.

Sandra Owiti Chege

Program Partner, Mastercard Foundation

Sandra’s passion is to transform lives through the creation and execution of practical, inspiring learning experiences in order to equip and connect individuals with the skills, technical expertise, knowledge and relevant resources they need to thrive. Her professional experience spans across East and Central Africa working in the Youth Development, Education, Organizational Development, and social inclusion and diversity sectors for over ten years.

Dr. Bill Bryan

CEO, The Bryan Group, LLC

An expert on effective leadership, Dr. Bill Bryan has engaged in applied competency and motivation research for over 40 years to determine what differentiates top-performing leaders from average and poor performers. This has led to the development of many performance enhancement programs for various client systems, and a new approach to executive search.

Titoyia Salaon

Global Risk and Portfolio Health Leader, GE

Titoyia Salaon is a passionate, results-driven finance professional and is currently executing the organizational transformation of the risk function at GE Gas Power. Previously, Titoyia served as a Senior Manager in GE’s Executive Development Program where she led multiple Finance, Compliance, and Audit assignments for GE’s Healthcare, Power, and Oil & Gas businesses and was stationed in over 10 countries.

Rev. Shawn Wallace

Lead Pastor, Washington International Church

Rev. Shawn Wallace has been in ministry in New York, Ohio, Malawi, Africa, South Sudan, Africa, Kenya, Africa, and now in Washington DC.  Shawn’s original call to being a pastor came when he felt God asking him to be a part of helping the bride of Christ become a more beautiful representation of Jesus and he has been privileged to be a part of that calling ever since.
